With the departure of the current Daniel Island Neighborhood Association President due to relocation, a DINA Search Committee was assigned the task of identifying a Daniel Island resident to assume the position of DINA President.

This week the Search Committee recommended to the membership that Marie Delcioppo be elected President.  Electronic ballots were sent to DINA members and Marie received near unanimous approval.

Marie Delcioppo is a financial advisor and the director of marketing at a firm here on Daniel Island and has lived on Daniel Island ever since she returned to her childhood hometown 5 years ago. Marie grew up in Mt. Pleasant and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida. She lived in Miami for 14 years where she was a public relations strategist, specializing in crisis communication and the health and wellness industry.  While living in Miami, she also owned a Pilates studio.  Marie chose to move back to Charleston to be with her family and settled on Daniel Island given that much of her family are long-time residents. She served as the chair of DINA’s Safety Committee where she successfully initiated the Safety Patrol program at Daniel Island School and worked closely with city and county officials on various infrastructure and development issues.

DINA is pleased to have Marie as the new President and she will assume the position effective Monday, September 25.  Marie can be contacted at president@dineighborhoodassociation.org.
